"When designing this show I wanted the audience to see what it would look like if a set was put up in 48hours, as the script notates, with no time period given by the Director. I used post and beam architecture for my focus reference concept. I also took into consideration on which details would have been overlooked, by the character Tim, while putting up the set.
Being the Technical Director of this show as well as the Scenic Designer was very unique because it allowed me to consider the logistics of the space, budget for material and the build schedule while I was designing. It helped keep my design realistic and the construction on time"
"When designing this show, I wanted to make a statement about what I thought the show was trying to say. The show is all about building confidence and putting together parts of life that have been shattered over time. Due to this, I wanted the bracing of the set to be seen to show that even though people have walls, you need to get to know them to understand and see how they were built."
